Friendship quilt time again! We got a little behind on our summer exchange, so let's all try to get caught up by the end of the beach retreat. Please let me know if you gave or received a quilt from August that is not noted here.
For those who are in attendance let's plan to exchange January's quilts at the beach like we did last year. If you are behind please don't despair - small and simple is a great way to get caught up. It is the thought and representation of each person that matters here. I am LOVING my little quilt wall in progress and it makes me so happy to look at the quilts I have so far and think how blessed I am to count you amazing ladies as dear friends.

Round 3- Friendship Quilt Exchange
Edited to Add: Kristen and Sherianne have opted out of the exchange. They both have a lot going on in their lives and felt it was hard to keep up. We will miss you ladies, but understand that life can get crazy. If either of you get to the point where you want to join back in, please don't hesitate to say so. Revised exchange is below - only a couple of people are affected.
Okay Ladies- we've had a few months off since our last quilt exchange in January, so time to rev up those machines and get working on #3. We will exchange quilts Aug. 1 at a summer quilting get-together, or by mail. Following that, we'll exchange at the beach in Jan. 2012 so if you are ambitious and want to work ahead, go for it! We'll just keep rotating by moving the recipient's name down one person on the list. I know everyone is busy, so if you are overwhelmed remember to keep it simple!

Overnight Pumpkin Oatmeal
Overnight Pumpkin Oatmeal
1 can (15 oz) pumpkin
water
2 cups steel-cut oats (do not use regular or quick cooking oats)
1/4 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. ground ginger
1 t. ground nutmeg
Spray crock pot with cooking spray. (A lot less oatmeal will stick to the sides if you spray it well.)
Combine canned pumpkin with water until all the pumpkin is well blended and the total volume measures 8 1/3 cups. Pour into crockpot
Stir in oats and spices.
Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
I have substituted applesauce for the pumpkin and it was really good. Other things that can be added are cranberries, dried apricots, raisins, vanilla protein powder, etc. Whipped cream is really good on the pumpkin oatmeal.
